The Ghost Behind 70,000 Companies

One name appears on more business filings than any other person in America. She is not a criminal mastermind. She is a compliance employee.

If you searched every business registered in the United States for the single most prolific signatory, you would not find a mogul, a lawyer, or a household name. You would find Lovette Dobson, a name attached to more than 70,000 business filings nationwide, more than any other individual on record (Blum, 2025). The natural assumption is that someone signing that much paperwork must be running a scheme. The actual answer is more interesting, and more revealing about how business formation works in America: Dobson is a longtime employee of Bizee, formerly known as Incfile, one of the country’s largest online LLC formation services. She has never met most of the people whose companies she filed on behalf of, and by all available evidence, she is not a fraudster herself (Blum, 2025).
